During this dynamic, hands-on workshop, teachers engage with unique specimens while participating in authentic learning and increasing their understanding of the nature of science. They learn strategies for transferring these new understandings into their classrooms and are given ideas for incorporating the scientific process into other areas of the curriculum.
Lessons and activities offered in this workshop have been thoughtfully developed and tested to support Utah State Core Curriculum and its Intended Learning Outcomes. All materials are based on process-driven learning that is focused on student interest. Consideration has also been given to provide opportunities for cross-curricular connections. Lessons are available for K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 grade levels.
*Educators receive 2 re-licensure points upon completion of this workshop.
